The festivities for Friday, August 19 have been cancelled.
Please come out Saturday, August 20!
Join us Friday and Saturday, August 19 and 20 as the 23rd annual end of summer celebration unfolds on the streets of Downtown Denton.
Caroline Summerfest is a free family entertainment festival featuring two stages of regional and local entertainment, a Friday pedestrian parade, Saturday fireworks show, strolling performers, artisans, free KidzArt activities, gaming and food vendors featuring local non-profits.
Hours are Friday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 12 noon to 9 p.m. Free parking and shuttle bus transportation will be available from the Health and Public Services Building off 6th Street (across from Fire Hall) on both days.
The theme for 2011 is “A Space Odyssey”
Each year festival producers identify a theme. “It’s simply an effort to keep our programming ideas fresh”, commented Sue Simmons with Recreation and Parks, “and to keep it fun!” Local non-profit vendors are encouraged to decorate their booths for the theme to win the $100 cash prize for the best decorated booth.
