Caroline Summerfest is the Free Family Festival in Historic Downtown Denton that is “easy on the wallet” and high in arts entertainment value.
This year we are Jazzin’ Up the Streets, with downtown décor and music that will carry you to the French Quarter of New Orleans and the backwater blues of the Mississippi.
August 19 – 5 to 10 pm
August 20 – 12 noon to 9 pm
Caroline Summerfest is a Pet-Free and Wheel-Free event.
Furry family members should stay home and bikes, scooters and skateboards should be secured outside festival grounds.
Join us Friday and Saturday, August 19 and 20, 2016 as the 28th annual end of summer celebration unfolds on the streets of Downtown Denton. Check out the details here for the three stages of live entertainment, strolling performers, arts and crafts for the children, fireworks display, car show, and free shuttle transportation from designated parking sites.
Free parking and shuttle bus transportation will be available from the Health and Public Services Building off 6th Street (across from Fire Hall) on both days.
The theme for 2016 is Caroline Summerfest Jazzing Up The Streets!
Each year festival producers identify a theme. “It’s simply an effort to keep our programming ideas fresh”, commented Sue Simmons with Recreation and Parks, “and to keep it fun!” Local non-profit vendors are encouraged to decorate their booths for the theme to win the $100 cash prize for the best decorated booth.
